Gold, orange and red leaves cover the lawn. Some days are sunny and blue skyed, others are grey and rainy.
But, no matter the weather I love this time of year. I love the cool, fresh air in the morning. I love walking around my neighborhood looking at the maples, horse chestnut and oak trees proudly displaying their autumn colors. I love how the leaves glow under the sun and are warming to the eye even on a dull day as the wind whips them from the branches and swirls them across the sidewalk.
After a long summer of seemingly unchanging sunny days, this season of overt change reminds me of the progress of time and finds me trading t-shirts and flip flops for fleecy tops and cozy socks.
It also reminds me that it's time to start sewing as every Christmas I make stockings to sell on Etsy and so the autumn season finds me in my craft room designing, cutting, sewing, sewing and sewing!
2013 Christmas Stockings |
Christmas tree and eat, drink, be merry! |
Rudolph and joy, love, peace! |
Gingerbread man, pet paws and personalized ornament stockings |
I have also focused my attention on designing some new personalized Christmas stockings as a lot of visitors to my shop last year requested named stockings for their family members.
Personalized stockings - snowflake, Christmas lights and ornaments motifs |
Personalized stockings - icicles, mistletoe and pointsettia motifs |
Rudolph, gingerbread man and personalized snowflake stockings |
And of course I am still making most of the popular motifs I listed in my shop last year.
So from here to Christmas (my other favorite time of the year!) I am to be found in my sewing room. My family does see me occasionally as I run to the kitchen to stock up on coffee and chocolate and know that if they need me they may draw up a chair beside me at my sewing machine. And as the autumn leaves fall you may also find me and my Christmas stockings at Stitcholicious. Why not pull up a chair and keep me company!
